OUR STORY

THE BEGINNING OF A BLUES BAR:

Start any conversation about music in Lincoln, and you’ll end up at the Zoo Bar. Often, literally.

In 1972, as a graduate student in UNL’s Fine Arts program, Larry Boehmer and his friends found themselves often looking for great venues to drink beer and talk music.

A few of them bought the Zoo Bar, expecting it to draw on the growing college market of the ‘O Street’ variety.
